Anyone live in Parkland Golf & CC or Heron Bay? What is going on? Is every other house for sale? What about the schools? Are they still good?

When Parkland was just being developed, my DH wanted to buy 5 acres for 12k. "It will never appreciate," says I. Never lived that one down!

actually I have a realtor friend that lived the Golf club development in Parkland. He says his the home he was in is HALF what it was once worth. He also told me the block he lived on had a lot of homes that were in foreclosure. Parkland is NOT fairing well.

found this "gem" in the sun sentinel about parkland link (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/community/news/parkland/sfl-flforeclosure1123nwnov23,0,2932211.story - broken link)

Friend of mine said when he was living in one of the associations up there in parkland. He would have to turn his high beams on when he came home at night. so many homes on his block had been abandoned that it was pitch black on his block.

I talked with a couple who have been trying to buy a house there on short-sale for the past 6 months. They have not even received a reply from the bank with their offer. So many of those houses are going into foreclosure, but the banks can't process it. The abandoned house issues are going to get worse -- I guess Coral Springs passed some type of ordinance about registration. Thanks for the link and your replies.
