I'm currently in the market to buy a one bedroom condo close to the Las Olas area downtown. I've been to the stores and restaurants along Las Olas but not the nearby streets north and south of there.

I am leaving my current apartment in Plantation because I want to be closer to entertainment, excitement, etc. Would I find that a few streets off of Las Olas?

Also any other similar areas you could point me to would be appreciated, I'm new to the Florida area. Thanks

Hi, I'm not sure if it's allowed to mention this but I saw a nice 900 sq ft condo off Las Olas that was priced pretty well for the area. It is listed on the usual real estate sites. This is the best area of Fort Lauderdale where you can walk to shops, restaurants, clubs, and cafes. It is very safe and centrally located and walking distance to the beach. This building even has a pool on the 32nd floor. It looks pretty cool.

It is located a few steps from Las Olas Blvd. Everything you need is next door. The starbucks is on the corner and it's a very safe and lively area. Andrews Ave is a little of the mark from everything. As far as I know there are no foreclosures in the building. It's called 350 Las Olas Place and it's a nice modern white high rise. The people are nice and the place is very secure. It's really close to the river too. I'm not sure if I can say anymore because of the forum rules but it sounds like it could be the perfect place for what you are looking for.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I drove around to some lofts a few blocks north of Las Olas, and it seemed kind of a dead area. Not much going on at all. The area you suggested sounds great
