I wish i was a tourist again, i could actually afford a hotel room, good dinner in a nice restaurant, enjoy the beach which i have no time for now, i like that i could just come and go back home....now i'm stuck here until i get enough money to move back home...every weekend i always see tourist out on the town near the beach or Las Olas and they look so happy, i really miss that.....boo hoo.

New can I ask what do you do for a living? I have to think that you did a little research into the area before you moved. considering that your name is new, I assume you have only been there a short time. It seems that there may be a multitude of circumstances causing you not to like SF. I hope that you are able to find your way back home. Where is that by the way?

MARYLAND - I lived there for 6 years as a kid in Frederick MD. Not really close to Rockville, but I will say this, I loved Maryland, I think it is one of the most beautiful states in this country. I have always liked the change of weather, so to me MD, NC, Virginia, have the perfect weather. Not too cold in the winter (at least what I can remember and just hot enough in the summer. I would love to go back to MD, but my husband would never. I think that while there is no place like NYC, SF is definitely more NY than NewtoSFLA may want to deal with. SF is very different (in my experience) in comparison to other parts of Florida. I think perhaps Jacksonville or something more North would be ideal for you. I have lived in NY for so long that to me SF is really nice, but if I were coming from MD right now, I definitely would not like it at all.

LOL - Fredneck - really? Now that you mention it that sums it up pretty good. I had a mix of friends when I was there, who I am still very close to. People were always confused by me, because I am spanish and had long curly hair and with a tan got very golden, so I was often mistaken for being a mulatto, which is very common there. I remember when I was 11 years old there was a KKK walking and I had to stay in the house. Totally freaked my mother out, we had never heard of anything like that coming from NYC. Different times thankfully. Tonyc, I'm not sure you would really like SF either.

I see - that makes sense, for you it will just a matter of geography. That is my attraction, my family is there and i really have nothing tying me to NY anymore, so it is time for my family and I to go.
