I miss that. You're bringing old memories. I dont miss the snow per se, but sleding downhill and snowboarding were the highlights of my winters up North (during my early days).
As for the little one's idea, it's not bad. In this day in age, unless you plan on retiring down here, I'd opt for a seasonal rental if funds permitted it. You got me thinking of a ski trip now.... (Let's see if the Mrs will hear the sales pitch..)

I don't post on this particular forum, but the thread title caught my eye. I feel the same way about Orlando. Visiting the theme parks was always such a "magical' thing that I looked forward to....and now I live here and it isn't the same. I forget Disney is just down the road.

I don't plan on moving from here, but I lost my favorite vacation spot.

Well....two of my good friends move to Orlando over the last couple years. And they swear they will never move back north, they WFH and still have there old jobs. Of course the play golf 7 by 24 and that was the main reason for the move. The kids, young teenagers, hate it as most of their cousins and close friends still live in the MD/VA area.

Then I have another friend who moved from here to Orlando, bought a house and got settled, five years ago. After living two years in Orlandon, he felt out of place, hated it with a passion, felt like he was stuck in the middle of nowhere. His biggest complaint was having to heat his house; so he sold his house and is luving living in west Miramar.

So what works for one may not work for another...I guess.

Right..lol..actually they're not in SFL, they're up close to Daytona Beach off of rt4, about 45 mins east of Orlando. From what they told me they're giving away houses up there now. So far they have successfully encouraged 3 or 4 of the residents here to move. They're all in there late 50's+ though.

Another thing, we have hills for skating.

OMG, Barack can groove..and Beyonce..wow..stunningly beautiful...
