Interested in knowing your experiences about taking the bus in Broward County... punctuality, reliability, safety, fares, customer service, schedules, routes, etc.

it is doable, but on a ONLY if you have to basis. It isn't the best and if you are coming from a city with real mass transit like say NYC or Chicago then you will be extremely disappointed.

If it is definitely doable and not bad, as long as you don't have more than 2 connections. Don't expect New York service though, buses don't run as frequently as we'd like.

Do it for pleasure only - and that's using the term very loosely. It is so limited and unreliable that you should not under any circumstances rely on it to get you anywhere where time is a factor. Just awful and this combined with traffic is one of the reasons I am leaving SFL. Just my opinion. Best to you,

Carry a really large umbrella. Many don't have shelters so you are stuck in the heat or rain.

Hello, Nikky9947! You are right! However, I am from Orlando; not from a northern state... so, in terms of weather it does not surprise me particularly during the summer when we have plenty of sun in the morning and noon, then rain and thunderstorms (including possible tornadoes or waterpouts) in the afternoon and evening... even in the overnight hours. I think a raincoat will be more useful than a large umbrella because winds are strong during thunderstorms.

Regarding sheltered bus stops... by the way you describe it, it seems to be pretty the same in Orange and Broward counties. So I am really accustomed... it will not be a big change, except for the cost of living and traffic.
