Breaking Out of Michigan (Palm Beach: rentals, condo, hotel)

I'm making the break despite reading the not so positive postings.
I am a single 40 something with no kids, no work here, and I absolutely hate the cold. I'm currently staying with family and living out of suit cases. Long story how that all happened but not important.

I am most familiar with PBC but the rents are not in my budget. I would like to get suggestions on possible places that I could rent weekly or for a month or so while I look to find a more permanent rental. A more primitive efficiency, vacation cottage or even a hotel type room would be fine as long as it is in a relatively safe area. A cabana house would even work for me and I would consider a trade as I am an ex chef, professional organiser, personal shopper, bookkeeper, and interior designer, just to name a few. I would love to be near the water if possible and could offer to cater for those with boats if I was near a marina. I'll do anything I can to avoid a job with a set schedule.

There seems to be a lot of roommate offerings that are well in my budget for the longer term but I hope to be able to take a bit of time and choose cautiously.

Any suggestions would be appreciated and go ahead and tell me how wrong this all is, I can take it

Try craigs list. carefully. lots of scams. studios in FLL are about 552 - 800.

You can do some monthly I'm sure. International Studios is on the Ocean at the end of FL at Pompano and are 600 per month sideways ocean view. Same with Galt Ocean Mile.

There are some women on craigs advertising for roommates in the actual rental forum, I saw it clicking on rentals.

there's also a GREAT (in the photo) studio carriage house on there but it's ummmm....Palm Beach somewhere but she keeps putting in on FLL. A lady is advertising it privately she lives there. I think it's 750 or 775.

Funny you mentioned the boat thing. I bought my condo from a couple that work for a corporate CEO they man the boat, and house. Cooking, maintenance etc. They didn't want to be tied to the condo since they live at his home and boat.

I have been surfing for days now and am on info overload researching places and income possibilities. There seems at least in my case to be lots of job opportunities. I found a really attractive offer for a one week rental to get me by until I commit to a one month. Is anyone familiar with Delmar Resorts? This would include Angelas, Blue Lagoon, Monte Carlo and Rainbow Beach "Resorts".

I would prefer to choose in person but this one needs a reservation to get the price and I wont be arriving for a few days. Got the car checked and am ready to hit the road Wednesday!

Again primitive is OK, just need a fairly clean and safe area.
