Heard the keys have great fishing and nice water. Or there any fruit trees or any similarities to tropical places . Is Bahamas alot better than the keys. Why arent there any beachs in the keys.

Fort Lauderdale is actually "almost tropical", and the keys are a true tropical climate. Yes, there are fruit trees as far north as Orlando, tons of tropical fruit farms in the Homestead area (check out Robert Is Here to purchase and Fruit and Spice Park to sample), so tropical foliage and trees are very common. The Bahamas may or may not be better, it depends on what you are looking for and not exactly what I would call comparable. There actually are beaches in the keys, although in some cases smaller than on the mainland.

No, jut expect to see a bunch of palms at the keys. the Redlands which is a area close to the keys is the farming area of Miami, so you can buy several fruits there like Mangos, papaya, strawberries, plums, and others (but not oranges ,for that you have to Orlando)

The keys are nice though.

In my opinion Bahamas has very nice beaches(white sand) but it is boring. The keys have the ugliest beaches, if you can call those things beaches.

The Keys are tropical and don't have natural beaches because they are off from a coral reef. There are one or two (very small) natural beaches - the rest are trucked in sand that the resorts bring in. Most people don't come here for the beaches, but for the snorkeling and diving.

Default beach in Keys

Bahia Honda state park, just before 7 mile bridge, is breathtaking beautiful. The beach on the Atlantic side is large and pretty but the water is quite shallow so there is turbidity. On the bay side is a beautiful beach/lagoon area IMHO it is one of the best places to go to on the Keys.

I agree if you want beaches stay in Fort lauderdale or Miami! The Keys are great for people watching drinking and sight seeing...especially if you want to see tourists, roosters and the nicest sunset you may ever see.
