I realize this is a very broad question, but can anyone give me an estimate of a homeowners insurance policy in Weston on a single family home approx 2,000sf, built in 1990's and valued at approx $275,000?
Thanks.

My guess is about $3,000 to $2,500 a year. Say from state farm insurance.

I am not a Fl resident, may someone explain me how the different types and age of the roofs affect the price of homeowners insurance in Weston or similar areas? Thank you

Hip roof because they have no eaves and the wind rolls over them. Houses with eaves are more vulnerable to direct impact of wind and rain on the eaves. A tile roof with flat tiles that are cemented on. Like the white tile roofs you see on some older homes. Not the barrel tile roofs you see on many expensive homes. Asphalt shingle roofs ,what I have, are only rated to withstand category 1 hurricanes. The weakest hurricane.
The above features to a roof will reduce your home owners insurance significantly.
