Next year my son will be going to Kindergarten and I'm trying to figure out which school is better for him. We live in St.Andrews and our school is Eagle Point which I heard was a really good school. However, I also heard some great things about Imagine Charter, although my understanding is that I have to win a lottery to get my son in.

Does anyone have any opinion about which school is better?

I cannot tell you which is better. I can tell you that I have had a child at Imagine Charter since it opened and my kids have done very well there. My oldest did 2nd-5th there, my middle did K-5th, and my youngest is currently in 5th (he started in K). Both of my older boys were happy there, and were well prepared for 6th grade.

The office staff is good. Like any school there are some great teachers and some not so great teachers in the school. I have been happy that my kids have had art, music, media, and PE throughout their elementary years. They have done well on FCAT if that is important to you.

I cannot comment on Eagle Point from a personal standpoint. In order to get into the Charter School you need to enter your son in a lottery. If he goes to preschool there he will have some sort of preference for kindergarden. Call the school for the details. (954) 659-3600.
