Yep...Las Olas is where its at. Somewhere near there...and there are numerous buildings that have rentals.

I am not sure about Las Olas area. I tend to see some very suspect looking drifters from other near by problematic areas.

If money is truly no issues...A1A (south of A1A and Sunrise Blvd) has some really nice places to rent but it will be about 2-4k monthly.

Also, back out west...City of Sunrise (Sawgrass Mills area) is not bad at all but it is away from the beach. Not really sure about night life scene for that area.

Hope you find what your looking for! Let us know what you find.

I didnt want to be in suburbia either.. good luck!!!

oakland pk n a1a is disgusting.

on one half of the street u have millionaire dollar ocean view condos and on the other half crack motels, rent by the week shacks.

I would never advise someone rent of purchase in that area, unless they want to get propositioned by streetwalkers.

Isn't that area Coral Ridge?

I would look in the Las Olas area. My sister has lived at the Symphony next the Performing Arts Center for a couple of years now. They have loved it. They just walk downstairs to the Himmershee District when they want to eat or drink. The rest of Las Olas is a quick walk or short cab ride away. At first she had the same worries about crime and homeless, but she never saw a problem.

We're talking about Oakland Park Blvd and A1A right? Where the L'Hermitage towers and walgreens are?

If that's where you're talking about, I would steer clear, especially for a young attractive professional woman.

Sure you got the beach there, but there are sooo many other areas that are beachfront in a better area.

Even Lauderdale By The Sea is sketchy in my opinion. Quit a few rent by the week, short term lease places there that are rented to crack addicts. Crack ain't cheap, some of these people have money----so don't be fooled by the rental rates into thinking it's a good area.

That area is NOT Coral Ridge. Coral Ridge is on the mainland at US1 and Oakland Park Blvd. The area you speak of is just the northern portion of Fort Lauderdale Beach. I think the area looks very attractive. Yes there are lots of tourists, short-term rentals, and the area is highly transient. But the same can be said for any other part of Fort Lauderdale Beach.
