I want to "look around" Weston (and maybe Davie, Plantation, etc.) at the end of April but I'm not planning to rent/buy until Spring/Summer 2011. I don't have a friend that is a realtor in the area, so if you do, and they'd be willing to cart around a nice couple from NJ for a day, I'd appreciate the referral.

I am also planning to look in Boca/Delray (and have a distant relative that's a realtor that can show me around).

I really want to live in an area where we will be comfortable with public schools. Buying in a place where I'm then committed to private school just doesn't seem to be a lifestyle choice we want. If you have suggestions for other areas to look (Parkland?) - we're open to suggestions.

Things that are important are a walkable downtown with restaurants, close proximity to kids activities (karate, music, gym, etc.), good park system, recreation/sports for kids, Jewish temple (preferrably conservative) in town with a day care program. My work will be between West Palm and Aventura...

Parkland and Weston are your best options if you are Jewish , good public schools , parks , and many kids activities ... both areas are also safe and upscale ... Jewish temples in both towns as well as many decent restaurants .
