Thanks so much for everyones info. It really helps!

Still a newbie on the physical area, so the questions may provide some comic relief

Looking at Fort Lauderdale to Weston area, listed below in no particaluar order at this point. Love what I have read about the schools, settings, communities, Cleveland Clinic hereby.

Very familar with (island) weather & storm issues so had a couple specific questions.

If there is a thread I missed, feel free to remind me!

Thanks in advance for all that you all offer! You're awesome!

weston
Plantation
Southwestern Ranches
Cooper City
Coral Springs
Parkland

Is there any major difference in elevations,or a map of particular area?
Wondering if any area is better or worse for inland flooding and storm concerns/
Any areas that offer small hills or ridge buildings that would have any more breezes
Any areas that offer better or worse boat dock access to either canal or river or lakes (25-30ft power boat) (16-20 ft fishing boat) (kayaks) (open water swimming)
Similar question to above but for hauling and storage purposes

I've lived both east and west in So Fl. If you are a boater I highly recommend living on an ocean access canal EAST! There are such great deals out there...why in the worl would a boater want to live off the water????

You can go boating in the Everglades if you live in Weston, there are a number of places where you can launch.

Thank you for the input! Still researching possibilities and having a some property for yard, garden and fruit trees is also of interest along with boating!

We live in Weston and have a boat. We used to keep it at a marina in DaniaBeach. Now that we have trailer, we keep it at a storage place in near South West Ranches. Sometimes we wish that we would have bought in an area that we could keep the boat in our yard (not possible in Weston and the boat does not fit in the garage) But for us, the pros of Weston out weigh that factor.

Thanks so much tankev! I also wondered if having it on a trailer in storage would offer opportunity to explore other boating options easier rather than on a dock right away, especially if we are new to the area

Thanks again nice to have input!
