Hi everyone!

My name is Ignacio. I'm a spanish guy looking for apartments, townhouses, condos.. for rent. We are exactly 4 spanish teachers who are going to Fort Lauderdale to study english in The Language Academy for two months (July and August).
We want to find something near the downtown, from which we can go walking or cycling.

I'm totally lost, I don't know where I must start.

I've found some apartments near the academy, "Las Olas by the River", "Camden Las Olas" or "Regal Trace", but i don't know if these places are safe or if we'd go to our english classes walking.

Please, if you guys could help us... I need advice! We could pay a maximum of 2000$/mth. If you have information or any offers to rent, tell me please.

THANKS!

Hello? Is there anybody out there?
It's our first time in the USA, and we don't want to have a bad impression after all i've read in this forum about crimes and so on... plase, help us.
Besides the rental issue, we want to organize some trips around Fort Lauderdale. Which places do you recommend us to visit?

Hello,
Sorry that you have not gotten responses yet, that you need. Be assured, However, that we Americans are caring people, and your request is heard...for now, I would encourage you NOT to apply to the Regal Trace...to my Knowledge it is a goverment subsidized apartment complex, mostly families, long term housing....check out the Las Olas Apartments....you would probably do better by using an apartment locator service, especially considering that you will be here for just a short time. Las Olas area is trendy, safe that I know of. The further WEST that you go in the area, the more the scene changes and the farther away you would be from your school...so stay as close to US 1, and East of there as possible. Try to work with an apartment locator...Best Wishes...

Sorry, I did not see the rest of your inquiry. If you are lucky enough to get close to the Las Olas area, you will have many opportunites of walking and or cycling to the most beautiful Fort Lauderdale Beach...which includes many opportunites for recreation as well as nearby socializing in the many clubs and bars along the beach. It is beautfiul and refreshing there.
There are wonderful recommendations on previous threads about the sights to see in the Fort Lauderdale to Miami to Palm Beach areas. Go up to the search bar, and enter the forums that you would like to read about( i.e. sighteeing in Miami, sighteeing in Fort Lauderdale etc for example)

Yes, you would be pleased with the Victoria Park area. Put these areas, that you are looking at, in a Google search bar, ---images or maps. And Specify the attractions near the area. For example, the Las Olas Area is safe, kind of expensive with pockets of affordable housing in between---Put in Cheesecake Factory, For example, and see if you can come up wiht a pictoral of the Las Olas Area...and enter Victoriia Park/Images. All the best.

Meanwhile, what are the best areas to party? discos, pubs... the nightlife in Fort Lauderdale. I'm 26.
