Currently i live in Orlando where i have been since 2009. Recently a work related account i was working with closed down and now i find myself training for a new assignment that i am not interested in. As a result i have been putting in applications to places in Orlando and Tampa but am finding the job market more abundant in Tampa.

The problem for me is i like to enjoy my free time and many people seem of the opinion that Tampa is not a good place to live. Now i am not 24 looking for the best of the best nightlife or entertainment. What i value is a social community with ways to meet new people. In my spare time i enjoy things like happy hour, the beach, some volleyball, maybe some live music. I'm in my 30's so i'm not looking for state of the art nightlife and to meet a college student. I just want a laid back place where it's easy to get involved in social events or find things to do and where the job market is somewhat abundant.

I have a bachelor's in Business and recent experience over the past few years in the cell phone industry working in call centers. I would need at least 30 Grand a month.

People seem to look down on Tampa and not see it as a place they want to live and i'm wondering why because it seems to have more of what im looking for and more stability and jobs than this area, but i could transfer my job down here and move here easily.

It was. I meant 300,000. That way i make almost as much as you if you dont count the debt you have from taking out a second mortgage or buying that bmw.

Sorry, you lost me there. I'm really not sure what you're trying to say. You're posting in the Ft. Lauderdale forum asking whether Tampa or Orlando is best for your career. Then you say you need to make $30,000 a month ($360,000 per year) with your bachelor's degree in business but you have been working in a call center. Then when I questioned the $30K figure, you said you meant $300K a month instead.
No idea what you meant by the comments about a mortgage or a BMW.

Please clarify!

I don't think that any such place exists. Good jobs that pay high salaries are not abundant anywhere in this state or most of the others. Also, there are millions of people living in this state and I think that I can safely say that 99% of them don't earn $30k or $300k per month. Unless you are something like a specialist physician, high-profile CEO, or own a very successful business you're probably not going to be earning megabucks anywhere in Florida. You definitely don't need to be earning that much money to live in most parts of Florida anyway.
