I'm planning my wedding for about 80-90 guests and I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on a reception site. We really want to avoid your traditional banquet hall- they bother me. I really like the out of the ordinary reception sites, for example, my cousin had his reception at the Venetian Pool in Miami (Google for Pictures)- I thought that was beautiful! I've looked into chartering a boat or renting a large vacation house, but living in Jacksonville makes it rather difficult. And rather than miss place both of our families up North in the Fall, we thought keeping it at home was best.

I guess I'm really just looking for ideas???

Thanks for your help

Cool Try The Beach

My wife and I went to a wedding on St Croix...where the couple was married on the beach at sunset...on the concept of keeping it simple...the bride wore a sun-dress and the groom a bathing suit......the reception was kept inside due to the never ending bug supply...but the wedding site and outside photos were beyond descripition......

I am sure one of the many hotels along the strip in Fort Lauderdale could offer something similar...I like the beach area around Los Olas with the palm trees...perhaps...instead of the beach...you could do a roof top wedding with photos of the sun setting in the back ground...
