Everywhere we travel you can pump your own gas.....except New Jersey........hmmmmm...let me guess....maybe the unions strongarmed legislators to control the industry.Probably just a silly thought!

I am from Jersey and tried to pump the gas a few times when we were out of state, with my hubby telling me what to do. I really need to go to a class to show me the different kinds of pumps and what to do. lolol..only kidding.... I feel the same way when I go to the Motor Vehicle Agency to do anything there. I never know what line to get into. I think it has to do with the Automobile. I need to get savvy on pumping gas.

At least you don't have to have your car inspected every year in Florida. I remember years ago in NJ you had to take your car to a state inspection depot. And the lines were awful.

Do you have something against cheap gas pumped for you? As of 9/1, at $2.51 a gallon for regular unleaded, gasoline in New Jersey is 16 cents cheaper than the national average. It's true - check it out.

AAA Fuel Gauge Report

FYI: Oregon also has a ban on self serve gas stations.

Tax on gas in NJ is low compared to many other states.. I believe it is 17 cents a gallon for tax or @ that number.

They get you in cigaretts $ 7 to 9 a pack. Liquor probably will be next.
I don't mind pumping my own gas but wish I hubby had thought to show me now. Still is a good laugh my first time, who knew! Won't go near an atm machine, skeers me.

I owned homes on the Eastern shore of VA. tyson and Purdue are there. The Local Farmers supply the chickens in their massive houses. Raise them, then they are shipped to the Plants. These companies employ all the local people not the immigrants. However the Agricultural farmers employ these people, pickin tomatoes and such~ The folks who I know that work for these Chicken companies, have no unions, the Vote is still out of that one weather I believe in them or not~ They do get Bene's, but I am told if you do not preform to the letter of the law and have problems disobey or any other infraction,,"There's the Door"~

New Jersey just got rid of inspections. The only thing that will get checked now, is emissions

That is what I like about the Cape Coral area.. drivers are more respectful and drive at a decent pace. No hell when driving.. now Jersey ,it is different.. yet there are come decent drivers in Jersey , me and a few others.
