Hi I'm a mid 20's guy and just moved to Ft. Myers for work. I am trying to find sports leagues, specifically basketball, indoor volleyball and sand volleyball.

Does anybody play or have any ideas where to start looking for a team?

Thanks!

Hey Apetre! You can find volleyball and basketball leagues at the YMCA - 239.275.9622

Also, if you play hockey (both ice or roller) you can go to the Ft. Myers Skatium - (239) 321-7510 Or ice hockey (3 sheets of ice) at Germain Arena (239) 948-7825

Adult Baseball and Lacrosse and soccer and flag football are available also...

Hope that helps!

Blessings, wanda

Tom. I'm from Ohio originally and then most recently moved down from Wisconsin.

Thanks Wanda. I looked into the YMCA and they do have some leagues...not sure how to get on any teams as an individual though. Guess I'll have to create my own team!

Glad to help! You can always call and ask the sports director if any teams have openings...or yep...start your own! Have fun! w

Hey Aptre,
I'm also moving down to Fort Myers this summer for work, and was looking for a basketball league. Are you still going to play at the YMCA? I can't find any open gyms down there.

Hey I also moved down here this last week from Washington D.C. I am looking for open gyms or if you start your own team, let me know. I would be interested.

Yeah thats the only thing I struggle to find to is an actual adult LEAGUE. organized teams and what not.

Best I've been able to muster is indoor pickup games at the Wa-ke Hatchee Recreation Facility off Summerlin on the way to the Beach by Lexington Country Club and the Health Park Hospital. Its 5 or 10 dollars for a LIFETIME membership and their courts are 10x better than the YMCA's. Not as crowded. Newer, not old as hell like the Y's.

I used to referee and play in leagues at the YMCA when I was younger actually. So no bias here haha.
