Greetings everyone...was just wondering if anyone might have any info on the happenings about the Babcock Ranch area NE of Fort Myers).
Specifically, the subdivisions that might be using green (or solar) technology. Not certain if this is just some Jetson's type rumors or if it is in fact a possiblity.

It is on the border of Lee and Charlotte county. Actually it straddles the county line.

If your going solar, like electric panels on your roof to supplement your energy usage, FPL will penalize you by raising your rates just because now your using less of their product. There was an article in the local paper about how FPL was screwing all those who wanted to use less on the power grid. That's our government, for the people, by the people. Screw the people and raise their own perks. The manufacturers charge way to much for those panels to make it worth waiting for recouping your investment. You need to get totally "off the grid" to make any real advance.

I wonder if solar panels ever got a plane off the ground.

I read about this when I was down there a few months ago. It was an experimental community that was planned. Is it still a go or is it a bust?
