I can't confirm this, but judging by the lack of jet boats I see on the water (and we're out a lot on the boat) I would say they may not be well fit for salt water boating. Their prices, even new, are very low so I would think there would be more of them around. Also, they lose value incredibly...so consider that as well. I know jet skis are high maintenance here too.

a jet boat that size would work great around here since it's so shallow everywhere. The outboard props and on those fishing boats are tearing up the sea grass everywhere in the shallow's. Hitting the sand bars and getting damaged. Once again the maintenance is the same for the two style propulsion boats. They both have to be flushed out after use, if used in salt water area's. An outboard style motor with an enclosed prop system has been on the market for for a little while now but it hasn't caught on in the area.
