We took a drive thru the Bonita Beach area a few nights ago - and were unexpectedly smitten. So - we would like to know more, good and bad.

We are retired, open to commnities that are primarily seniors or mixed. (commnities that are highly populated with families with children would not be our first choice.). We enjoy fishing and boating, but not off shore - frankly, lakes and fresh water are more our speed. Fishing is important, as well as easy access to a boat (slip space at a marina would be okay.)

We enjoy dining out (ESP ethnic), happy hour, and the convenience of nearby choices of grocery stores, restaurants, medical/dental facilities for regular services, banks, etc. We don't want to live in the boonies. That said, the traffic from Cale coral to FMB to estero to bonita was horrible on Sunday late afternoon!!!! I would not want to live with that every day.

So - what can you tell me about this spectacular area? Prices, type of housing, community attributes, positive & negatives?

Are you speaking specifically about Bonita Beach or Bonita Springs as a whole?
