I am going to get a pool one of these days and I was thinking of getting my well pump fixed so I could use the well water. I understand the pump is at the bottom of 180 feet of 1 inch pvc. Sounds like a big repair job.

Have you checked out a "brumby" pump? Not sure how it might work w/ your particular well, but there is a fair amt of information on them on youtube. Might be worth checking them out. YouTube - ‪brumby pump‬‏

Hey riko when we had the pool finished in November we used the well to fill the pool. Suncoast the company that installed used the 2 large cylinders that the well water filtered thru before it went into the pool.

Amen to that... especially since I've had to fill it up a couple of times already. Not major fill, but it was getting below the skimmer box.

You're going to spend more on fixing the well/pump than it will cost to just fill it with city water. The weekly filling of the pool during the winter (you almost NEVER have to add water in the summer/rainy season) is negligible, you will hardly notice it on your water bill. You also might find out your well is dry, it might not provide enough water to fill it, etc. then you will have to use city water anyways after spending money on the well. You can also try companies that bring the water to you and can fill it like an hour. Again going to most likely be cheaper than fixing your well.

If you are using a well for your daily water supply there is no way I would use it to fill your pool. There are dozens of companies that will bring the water to you.
