Hello, my girlfriend and I(mid 30s) are moving to Ft Myers in couple of weeks and need your advice. I'm going to work on S Cleveland Ave and College Pkwy area(across Pine Manor to be exact) and would like to rent a place nearby. My budget is $1000/month for at least 2bed/2bath. I do not mind driving 10-15 min, safe area is a must, prefer gated community with some amenities(pool, gym, tennis, etc.) I checked Craigslist and there are tons of places available, but I have no idea about the areas.
I apologize if this is a repeat question in this forum, but I could not find the info i need.
Thank you in advance.

Look at Provincetown on College Parkway. Gated, clean, nice neighbors. The Condos are small, 1000Sq ft. 2bed 1.5 bath but perfect for a couple with no kids. It is close to bell tower for dining and bars. Right in the middle of Ft. Myers......close enough to the beach. It is a good spot.

Just saw gym in your needs. Never mind Provincetown. Have you looked at what the rents are in teh downtown high-rises? They are only a 10 min drive to College and 41 and you have have the down town plus all the amenities of the high rise.
