Is anyone familiar with methods of repairing a seawall whose bottom has toed out a few inches. Is the only remedy to remove and replace it with a new seawall?

That is a very technical decision. Different factors of that specific spot will determine what can be done.
It would be best to contact a local seawall and dock contractor who could give you an assessment.
Every canal and location on the canal is different. Some have a heavy rock bed and some don't.

I was told there are 600 people ahead of me to get an estimate from Honc. If anyone has received a quote please share it with a description of what the work entailed. Thanks

Sorry to hear that riko, big article in the breeze discussing this topic. they said 50k to repair which I can't see considering a new seawall cost about 15k.

Wonder how it works when a seawall is compromised on a vacant lot.Is there a city ordinance requiring repairs?

The cheaper seawall prices that you see are for empty lots before a house is put on it. Once a canal is lined with houses and pools, they can't bring in the big, heavy equipment. Work has to be done more from barges with smaller equipment and a lot of hand work. Docks need to be rebuilt, lawns need to be restored, etc. Figure $500-700 per linear foot for these difficult replacements. A typical double lot is 80 feet wide, so figure $40,000 to $56,000.

Mine started kicking out about 7 years ago. Honc recommended installing riprap for reinforcement at a cost of about $6,000. During Irma, both of my neighbors lost their seawalls and mine is still standing. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that my fix may have contributed to theirs failing, since the bottom panels were no longer jointed together for strength.

Thanks for the input guys. I may try to save it with rip rap and maybe adding some pilings in front of the wall. I'll let everyone know. Right now it is hard to even get estimates let alone get the work done. CC needs more seawall companies to bring down costs and performance time. Right now there is a monopoly with only 3 companies I know about. I would like to know the profit margins at a price of $56,000. Sounds almost like price gouging to me.

How much did yours kick out? was it the bottom kicking out? Is that all they did to it? Were there any cracks in it? Thanks for the info. I have been considering rip rap as well as other measures to save the wall.
