"Cape Coral is among the largest cities in the nation without a limited-access highway, much less direct Interstate access."
This condition has existed since its inception but none of the fearless leaders have been able to solve the problem in the last 40 (that's Forty) years.
The largest retirement community on record, and all they are doing is feeding their wasteful and inept government with the tax dollars of the retired people if they ever show up.
The stupidity by the local government is colossal. And they keep wasting money on those important projects like moving bird.
Think long and hard before investing in the worst place in Florida.

First, it wasn't the city's idea to move the bird sanctuary. They were forced by federal authorities. Second, what is the great benefit of building a huge super highway into Cape Coral? I can drive to 75 in less than 15 minutes. With a new road it would maybe shave 5 minutes off. Big deal. Plus, I don't see that much traffic over the bridges.

That is also the reason it is not a viable city, and is almost entirely supported by home owner tax dollars.
There aren't going to be enough tax payers to support this mis-managed monstrocity and there never will be this place needs to grow or it will be the same a Lehigh Acres.
This country is on a wealth killing spree and they are not going to stop.

Lehigh Acres? You mean the ghetto-fabulous, gang-ridden outpost right next to the MAJOR HIGHWAY that goes all the way up to the Midwest but hasn't had any meaningful growth since it was "created" back in the 60s?

There has never been an answer actually, just the question multiple times.
