It seems this place is turning into Miami. The're are drug houses everywhere, There has been 20+ murders this year in Ft. Myers and 34 sexual assaults. And looks like Cape Coral is slowly starting to adopt the ghetto culture of Fort Myers. Why is it like this?

Well its true. There have been many drug house sprinkled around Cape Coral, people playing bass music from their cars, and whole bunch of other stuff you would attribute to a place like Miami.

I thought it Cape Coral was supposed to be a decent city to live in where you could raise a family.

Anyway I ask why does Fort Myers have so much crime and why is it ghetto?

I don't know what your claim is based on but the stats I've found suggest just the opposite--crime rates have been steadily decreasing in Fort Myers since 1999:

Yes, murders are up in Fort Myers. Way up. Law enforcement says they are directly linked to the drug trade.

Fort Myers murders linked to drug trade

"Fort Myers added Friday to what has been a record year of homicides in the city after a morning shooting claimed the life of a 35-year-old man.

The 2012 homicide total is three more than the 2011 total, which also broke the record for the city."

And they spoke too soon because along came number 24.

I disagree that the Cape is turning into a ghetto.I think the population demographics as well as the actual crime rate shows otherwise. True ,that Ft Myers is looking like a third world country in some places, especially everything north of Colonial.
If you want a better understanding of the crime situation, just go onto the News-press site and look at the daily crime reports.I know they say that you shouldn't judge someone by their appearance but after looking at some of the thugs and gangbangers it makes you wonder.

The occasional drug bust and bass from cars make Cape Coral a place you cannot raise a family? There is no logic. Certain areas of Fort Myers have so much crime and ghetto because it is a cheap place to live that provides all the necessities for the drug trade, easy transportation, a lot of people confined to a small area, and cheap housing.

24 murders for the year. Only thing good about Fort Myers right now. They are starting a new year today. Hopefully with less murders this year.
