As new seasonal residents in Fort Myers, we are looking for some patio furniture for our lanai.

Basically we are looking for only a padded chaise lounge chair, and possibly a padded glider; without having to spend an 'arm and a leg'. I have been flabergasted by some online searches and subsequent pricing; ($500+ for a glider and $250 for a lounge chair).

The 'Big Box' stores (Lowes and HD) do not seem to have a big selection and stores that specialize in patio furniture also seem to specialize in high prices.

Could anyone make some recommendations? We would even consider slightly used items if in very good shape - but it seems that Consignment stores do not (and understanable so) have pictures of current inventory. Woudl consider anyplace in Fort Myers, Naples and anywhere inbetween.

Thanks.

Classified ads in local papers.
Craig's List

Might be worth a drive if you see a bargain!

Note: If you are looking for something very specific, you might have to order from a store. However, I know from experience that people often sell furniture in excellent condition because they're moving out of state or can't use it in their new residences.

Estate sales can also have a bargain or three. Home Depot/Lowes in the fall when they are clearing inventory run some great deals on patio furniture but that might be too late.

We priced it at several places and Home Depot was the best deal we found.

Try Craigslist, sometimes it's a hassle but sometimes you get a great deal.

Try Target online. I bought furniture there for a covered porch in NJ. Furniture is now 5 yrs old, still good and it wasn't that expensive. We leave a couple of chairs out all winter for coffee in the morning, just take in cushions after use to stay warm. They deliver to house and you may be able to go to a store and try it out. Up here they have it in the stores in late spring/early summer.

This time of year most stores in the country are not selling lawn furniture. Even here the big box stores have a limited supply. If you need to order something special you will have to wait for the rest of the country to thaw.

You want to get aluminum framed patio furniture if it is going to be outside, other types rust in no time. Home Depot and Sears both had decent priced aluminum furniture.
