So we're having the Lehigh debate,,, a chance at ownership ,, new start,, but I've been reading these forums and am having second thoughts... Not because of the crime,, thats everywhere,, but I'm really afraid of the country,,( not kidding) is it still rural,, do I have to worry about wild animals while I'm walking down the street?? Are the schools any good???

HELP!!!!

Do not move to Lehigh.

It's not the country, it's ghetto. It's a dump. It's full of crime, drugs and murder.

When the City of Fort Myers tore down the old public housing project, those 'residents' were all moved to Lehigh and now, because of them, you have the Lehigh of today.

Schools in Lehigh? Yeah..good luck. Lee County has a school choice system..you have to choose a school and enter a lottery.

As for wild animals, the two legged kind outnumber the four legged and are far more dangerous.

Look at homes in Cape Coral..its nicer, cleaner, less crime and the schools are better.

I've lived in Lee County for over 30yrs....trust me when I tell you to run as fast as you can away from Lehigh.

If it came down to owning in Lehigh or renting for the rest of my life somewhere else, I'd rent.

So now I too know. I wondered why it was so cheap, I bid on a couple properties on Ebay, didn't get them.

Unless Kim wants all that cheap housing to herself?

What a funny little man you are! No. I want nothing to do with Lehigh. I only deal in high-end rentals.

Many, many years ago Lehigh was a quiet community that had a lot of promise for the middle class. The City of Fort Myers killed that when they tore down the public housing project and shipped the residents to Lehigh.

I'm sure you would get more replies if this thread was in the Florida forum or in the specific city where Lehigh is close to.

Why is this here in the Lehigh Valley, PA forum? I think the OP means Lehigh Acres, Florida.
