My husband got transferred here to the area, we are havbng a hard time getting a rental. He has good income, but unfortunately has a felony from 8 going on 9 years old...Just got denied for a house... Does anyone know of something..need something by first of April..we have three kids, can go up to 1400 per month.... plenty of money coming in, stable work with big company for 9 years so he is not a problem for income...p.ease don't respond with negative comments..

Look for rentals with private owners. Management companies are not likely to rent to felons. Check Craigslist, online versions of local newspapers.

Willow is correct.

No apt complex or property management compnay is going to rent to you. Sorry, but that's the fact. You're going to have a hard time finding a decent rental, in a decent area when you have a criminal record.

So what happened to the place you were renting in this thread? Wasn't your dh living with you at the time you wrote this thread? I'm confused about your rental situation............

Unfortunately, this is true. I know because I've rented from private owners who didn't run criminal background checks and I sure had my share of undesirable neighbors.

By the way, I'm not saying you and your family would be undesirable neighbors. There are different classes of felonies, so the offense can be anything from murder or rape to tax evasion and embezzlement. Therefore, if the crime wasn't too serious, I would advise contacting an attorney to see if the criminal record can be sealed or expunged since so much time has passed.
