Hey all looking to purchase a home, i found one and the disclosure statement mentions a small leak. The neighboor was telling me about possible mold in the past, is there a way to find out if the home did have mold in the past. Is there such a thing as a carfax but for homes, like a homefax?

you could have a mold inspection done, personally if you had some info like a neighbor saying there was a mold problem in the past I wouldn't buy the house. there are so many "like" houses to chose from why take the chance especially if you were somewhat suspicious.

I'm not aware of a 'homefax' program...but you could check with the municipality for any remodel permits (if it was real bad...) but your best bet is to have it checked out yourself during the inspection period. Your contract should have a inspection period allowing you to conduct all the necessary inspections prior to close. -PCW
