Volkswagen repair in Ft Myers area? (gated, shops, garage)

Hi,
This is a long shot, but could anyone give me a recommendation of a private or locally owned auto shop that services VW or European cars? I search yelp and all I can find is the dealership. I drive a 2007 VW Jetta with 87000 miles, no warranty so going to the dealership is generally too expensive for me.

I build hot rods but new cars with computers and injection are beyond me, so for my daily driver I use a local shop that is EXTREMELY good and honest. Don't know if he does VW, but he is good on most cars so I think it is worth a call the check him out. Name of business is Auto Specialist on Andrea Lane, his name is Mark Tipton, phone number 239-489-0009.

My first experience with Mark was on a Ford LTD that I had and the transmission went out. I had another AOD in my shop but I hate working on the cars I drive so I took the car and transmission to him to install the new one. He quoted $250 and I told him to do it. A few hours later he called and said the car was done and I owed him $100, he found the trans was ok and only needed a linkage repair. I tipped him $50 for his honesty. Since then he has done work for me and my Son and always does a first rate job for usually less than the quote.

I have no affiliation with him other than being a customer, and he just fixed a check engine light on my Cadillac this week for a very reasonable $105.00. Can't recommend him enough, honest mechanics are very hard to find these days. He is a one man shop so you get him personally on every job.

You're welcome. As I mentioned earlier, I know cars pretty well but not NEWER cars. When some light goes on in one of them we just take it to Mark. We've all run into those shops who find every little thing to fix on your car when you take it there but he doesn't do that at all.

I also like the fact that he is the one doing the actual work as opposed to some less qualified employee who the work gets delegated to. His garage isn't like the chain ones with a fancy waiting room , so don't expect that, but I think you will like the way your car turns out and the final tab.
