Considering the subject matter I like the spelling "aloud" better.
I agree that the OP is just going to have to put up with the noise for a couple of weeks. Workers need to get started early to beat the heat. I would be happy to get the new sidewalks.

Hey Kim, lighten up, and remember that compassion and kindness are always better then superiority.

lol, lighten up? Superiority? Wow.....all because I corrected someone's grammatical error? Wow. I guess it's true what they say, 'Ignorance is bliss!'

I noticed the OP hasn't updated us on her phone call to the city.........

Dear Kim, to correct someone's grammatical error is an act of superiority....(unless we were all back in school and you were the english teacher). We are grown adults on this forum and you do not have the business or authority to correct the word/verb usage of anyone on this site. Not only is it an act of ignorance, and superiority but it also condescending and insulting. I'm new to the Florida forum, but I suspect you are accustomed to also having the last word. You took another "last word" swing at the OP.

Do us a favor and stick to the subject matter of the posting and take your grammatical, educational skills to an academic institution. Let's just keep the postings on a level of kindness and helpfulness as they relate to the topic. Finally, I'm not calling anyone ignorant. It is one thing to be stupid and another to do a stupid thing. As well, it is one thing to have the authority and another to act authoritatively. In the spirit of kindness and brotherly love, let's just agree to keep our phenomenal intellect with regard to the world of orthography to ourselves. We can just stick to beaches, alligators, snakes and real estate and leave the job of correcting spelling to the poor, overworked teachers. Yours in kindness, Abigail.
