I live in Cape Coral and recently moved here from Port Charlotte. We have been going to the Cape Coral Yacht Club as they have a new pier and we love it. However we want to try something different. We do not have a boat so it must be surf, bank, pier or bridge fishing.

Second the above. We went to Sanibel every Sunday this past "summer" & there are TONS of people fishing off the bridge. But, you actually don't fish on the bridge (there is a new one now) but in this area right after the bridge ends. We would also see lots of people fishing under the bridge on the barges that were there to take apart the old one. It's a popular place for fishing.

The Matlacha Bridge would be you best bet. Just go to Pine Island Rd and drive west. All of the Pine Island sound is a good place to fish. Good Luck!

Thank you! I tried Matlacha last night and nothing was biting so we are going to Sanibel today and give it a shot. Caloosahatchee River river (Veterans Bridge)? I saw it last night but, not many people out fishing maybe because of the holidays.
