You're correct it is all in your perspective and out look.

But I have noticed that Cape Coral it not with out its faults. I have heard of political problems in the city and I see that sprawl and growth went unchecked.

Everyone's situation is different & everyone's opinions are valid.

I never claimed to tell the reality of anything nor did I say that all negative comments were invalid. Yes people have different situation but...My point was ..... In my opinion things are turning the corner I agree with NYBill.

If you want to fault me being and optimist go ahead.

Default Changes

IMHO things are changing for the better.

There is more community awareness, for example the new Public Saftey Building which if it where the older days the City would of got what they wanted. But instead the propositon and funding was turned down by public vote, in a landslide. which left some council memebers with there jaw dropping.

Then we had our election for council memebers, there jaws dropped even more.

We have 5 new city council members out of 7 that sit now, who BTW are interested in making changes and the city more accountable for it actions and are willing to challange the way things used to be.

I would say between those two items it was a wake up call and slowly things will get better, it does not happen over night.

I love it here in CC. It isn't perfect, but I like it here. I am in a quiet neighborhood, have a nice house. All I hear outside right now are a lot of crickets chirping. Cape Coral has everything you need right here.

If you haven't noticed, there are a handful of people in here that ALWAYS complain about EVERYTHING. You have to learn to ignore them, but you will see it's mostly the same whiners.

With the tax base leaving en masse, who, exactly, is going to clean up the abandoned properties, let alone any government property? I bet it is a quiet neighborhood. Crackheads in those houses are eerily quiet.

I just talked to someone that just left the area. He said it looked like a ghost town.

Except maybe jobs, aka a way to financially support oneself, as you seem to be asking about this in another post that you started yourself today....

Many of the same reiterate the same thing: crappy real estate market mixed with no job base equals a tough place to support a family. Great if you are retired or living with your parents...otherwise, it's a rough road. That's not negative, it's the truth.

McDonalds does offer benefits, though. Not sure how it supports a mortgage.

Smile The Cape....it's Great !

Cape Coral is by far the best place I ever lived. I have been here for 7 years now and would never move.

It boasts of 400 miles of canals for a great boating community and as for the
housing slump....it makes a great opportunity to buy.

They now have Brand New Charter schools which are state of the art. They are the next best thing to a private school. (Thank you Jeb Bush)

It is growing and now at about 170,000 people, it will not be built out until
it reaches 400,000 people.

The fishing....boating....golfing....and weather is great!!!

Ya, there are so many crackheads in this neighborhood, it's crawling with them, do you live on my street funny guy???? You are in knoxville, you know NOTHING about being here. So I will drive around today and take pictures of this "Ghost town" your fried says it is, then you can see how dead it really is here... You ARE one of the most negative people here, post in KNOXVILLE... You aren't even here to prove any of your ramblings...

Hey Bill how are you, How is the fishing? anyway I agree it is always the same whiners on this board, funny how they sit on there computers all day and complain they cant find a job. I guess no one is knocking on there door offering a job. funny how people think there are no crack heads or drug addicts in rich fancy nieghborhoods.LOL if they only knew. I will be in cape coral looking for my new home, and I know the same people will say it is not the time to buy?? with thousands of homes on the market to choose from with great interest rates. I dont think I will wait till there are less homes and higher rates sorry , just makes more sense from a buyers stand. supply and demand helllloooo. anyway I know people in cape coral never here of any problems. that are not anywhere else in the usa. P.S. to people complaining about jobs, sometimes you have to take any job, till you find the one you are looking for. You have to start at the bottom. or travel .
