45 yo gay man Considering Moving To Ft Myers in the fall (rent, employment)

Howdy, I was visiting family in North Ft Myers for three weeks over Xmas and into January.

i didn't care for North Ft Myers, but did enjoy time at the beach, in the arts and commercial district downtown and in area around the Edison Museum.

I work in the hospitality/restaurant business summers on Cape Cod and taught English in Costa Rica for thirteen years during the school year.

I spent this God awful winter on the Cape and do not intend to ever do another one. The other factor in that is the cost of housing here on cape Cod, especially seasonal housing, is so expensive that it is rapidly becoming counterproductive to work in the restaurant biz because virtually everything you make during the 15 week season gets eaten up in rent.

I would not be able to do it except for the fact I rent from family for the summer.

I am just interested in some general info about housing and employment possibilities in the restaurant/hospitality biz.

I really liked and was impressed by the beach and downtown district. The move is not until after Columbus Day, but I figure doing some research can't hurt. Any info will be greatly appreciated
