I am 53. I lived in fort myers in the same house for 21 yrs
The landlords sold it in Jan of this yr and I am in a camper in someone's driveway.I have to leave here by tuesday the 21st.
I am on disability and receive 753 total a month including ssi. I have a storage unit for 128 a month holding only my most important items from the house I lived at.. I am looking for a place to live.
I am alone.
My camper is a 1977 Sportsman Class C in great shape.
I really need help. I tried campgrounds, rv parks They say 55+ only and no campers over 10 yrs old.
Apts are costly and I tried hud, ft myers housing, section 8,lee county, united way salvation army.I have posted ads to share an apt and have exhausted everything.
If you have something for me I would be grateful. I am going through a divorce after 8 yrs of separation.I was awarded alimony but now he is contesting it. He is 90% better off than I am, living with someone who makes as much as him.
I am in hell over not being able to find ANY apt or spot to place my camper.
My health problems are getting worse and I need peace from all the stress.
I don't care where the apt is or what shape.
I am a neat and clean person and can make anything look good.
I am at the end of my rope
Please let me know if you know of anywhere I can go. I also tried Georgia,NC,SC,Tenn

Feel bad for you Susan and wish I could help......I'm back north for the season but there must be someone on the forum that has an idea where you could move.
Best wishes

Maybe look for some elderly person that lives alone and their family would allow you to live with them for free just so they have someone around to keep them company and help them in case of emergencies. Look on Craigslist and put up ads in rehab centers or 55 plus communities. lucky for you there is not shortage of elderly in SWFL
