Be a part of our design team survey. Our first question is, should we design the high-rises to have screened lanais or glass balconies? And please share comments of what are the benefits of either choice.

Thank you.

The building should fit in with the character of the Downtown area. The building look from the late 1800's is awesome.

Personal Opinion: There is too much faux Mediterranean archetecture in SWF, its everywhere and it is decorative but out of place. I love the charm of the old buildings in Down Town...but I would like to see some striking and beautiful archetecture to complement it......it could have a "tip of the hat" to the elders.....but stand out on its own for its daring.

Ft Myers isnt a museum; it is a vibrant destination.

A screened Lanai may require more maintenance over the years but would probably be more traditional/practical. Glass would look upscale for sure but may defeat the purpose of a lanai restricting air. Would just become an extension of the conditioned living area. If I was in an upper floor unit, I would like to sit on my open air lanai and breath in the perfect winter months air........
