Hi.
Does anyone have any info on living @ Seven Lakes community in Fort Meyers?
Moving South very soon, just not sure where. Coming from NY, so this is a big move for us.
Ages 59&60 here. My husband is handicapped so we need a community that is accessible to us as his walking is limited. An active clubhouse would benefit him as it will keep him busy.
Thank you!

I viewed Seven Lakes with a friend about a year ago. It is great and has every imaginable activity you could possibly want including woodworking. You can have a duplex, condo or single family. Don't know if there are any newer homes as the place was built in the 70's I believe with additions through the years.

They have transportation to wherever you need to go. The HOA fees were a little high, at that time around $500 but if I was ready for a 55+ community I would definitely consider them.

Seven Lakes doesn't have anything "wrong" with it. Particularly competent security there.

It merely suffers the same issues all aging condo properties (automobiles, people, etc.) suffer....... Ever increasing maintenance needs.

As time goes on, even though you may "own" your unit, you'll be making the equivalent monthly payment as you might make on a free standing house with more space, and fewer restrictions to do as you please.

Not saying any of that is a bad thing, just the facts. There is a trade off in everything. When it comes to HOA's and Condo associations, one need look at how well, and to what, they apply their revenues.

Keep in mind there may be a lot of units for sale because of: death (some of the people there are quite old), moved to a nursing home or in with family. If I moved there I would want a single family house - I've had enough of apartment and condo living.

Thanks again. All this input is appreciated... they have Villas but there's a waiting list.
The units I saw, most were beautiful and updated, but the distance to the elevator/ car port would be a challenge for my husband as he his handicapped. Going back in August, lol, we'll see.
