You guys need to wake up
This hurricane might run right into Ft Myers!
Look at the CD Weather-Hurricane forum

HUGE storm wind bands
Likely a 4 when it hits
Will be a woodchipper effect!

We are toast!! I am safely in NJ but mentally preparing myself for nothing to be left when I return only to call insurance company. My area became mandatory evacuation this morning.

Wisest choice I ever made was not to leave Tuesday like planned.

Obviously when it's safe to do so, i.e., roads are passable, electrical wires secured, EMS has access, waters have subsided. That's going to take as long as it takes, could be days, could be weeks in some areas.

... And another westward shift for the eye. Instead of directly over, now it's looking like slightly more west. Hopefully it keeps nudging west .... waayyy west! It will still be bad, even it is 50 more miles west.

It looks now like it's going north, hitting Marco Island first.

Turning out to be a puddy cat of a storm after all the hype... that is indeed a good thing.

It was the usual Over-Hype. Yes, I know ...it's better that they over-hype and scare people into evacuating versus downplaying it, and getting slammed. Yes, there were areas that needed to evacuate (Everglades City area especially comes to mind), but when I saw they were evacuating areas east of 41 near Bell Tower, I had to roll my eyes.
