We didn't get those horrific long thunderstorms that we usually get. My poor dogs go crazy when that happens so I'm glad.

Also I noticed this year we did not get that late night light such as sometimes it's still light out after 9 pm and as late as 9:30

can't keep track of the el nino / la nina but one was influenceing Florida's weather for the last few years , caused drier than normal winters but kept hurricanes away. that system has since moved on so could explain change in weather.

It seemed like there were fewer thunderstorms this summer, but it also seemed like there were more overcast / "gloomy" days than last summer. In other weather news .... The hottest we hit in the southwestern Cape this summer was 96 (it reached 96 on four different dates), while last summer got as high as 98. I beleive Ft. Myers recorded slightly higher than the Cape, but I don't have their numbers. The lowest temp this year in the southwestern Cape was 39 (one morning in January), while last year it only dropped to 44.
