There recently was a thread on clubs that play Rap "music". What happened to it? Looks like it disappeared. This would've been a useful topic to be able to learn what places to avoid. No, I'm not an old "get off my lawn" geezer. I just have this weird thing about me where I don't like music that spews hate, violence, and misogyny. Anyone know what happened to the thread?

Are you afraid you are going to walk into a bar that plays rap music and be trapped?

Someone must have complained about it if it was removed. I would let it go, if you keep posting about it you might get in trouble.

No, I'm not afraid of being "trapped". But, I certainly don't want to waste time patronizing those places. I would hate to tell a bunch of friends to all meet at XYZ club, and then after going there we find out that XYZ plays a bunch of (c)Rap. My fun time is valuable. Don't want to waste too much of it.
How would I "get in trouble" if I post about it? Am I breaking some law? is there a policy or terms of service that is being violated by posting about it? So far, I gave 1 reply on the original (missing) thread, and then I posted this thread asking "what happened to the original thread?". I'd hardly call that "keep posting about it".

So just research the place on Google or read the reviews. I would hate to enter somewhere and hear country music.

This exchange was a "funny read" I am fairly certain the OP didn't pick up on the ribbing..

on a side note..

OP,

I have not been to a "contemporary" bar or club that didn't have rap music in its music rotation. If you are looking to avoid the entire "Urban Scene" it would be safe to say that you should avoid any clubs in Fowler Corridor.

Otherwise, rap music is very much mainstream, it is in every Alt-90s playlist I listen to and Contemporary Music Playlists as well.
