I'm also using Century Link but I don't know the speed. I do know when my son was living here and his daughter would be over and we would all be using WIFI, it would run really slow.

Here's a basic speed test:

Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

I forget what speed I pay for, but do test from time to time to have some numbers floating around in my brain.

As for WIFI speed, could be your router. I know nothing of Century Link hardware, but if it's like AT&T, you probably have a gateway device (modem/router combo). You should be able to buy your own router and bypass the company one, but that's more technical than I can describe here (though Google is your friend).

Every time I try and check to see if Century Link has fiber optic in my lot's area, they say to call. Not in any rush, but it would be something to look forward to.

We've had Comcast for years, and have threatened to leave them a bunch of times. Every year, we do the same dance.....….they up our rates, we say we will leave, and they come up with a better deal.

This year, they really jumped up and took a few stations away, they wanted about $40 more a month for less. So, we did the same game, and they miraculously came up with a cheaper plan that has what we want, except we lost a couple of channels that we can live without.

I really do not like them, but we are not sure if anyone else would be better.

CenturyLink up in the NW Cape. Comcast isn't available up here. We find it to be very reliable.
