The city ranked first out of 125 places to retire.

I'm glad I chose Fort Myers as my retirement destination.

Who's with me?

Not currently retired, but I love living here and will never leave. I've lived in quite a few States, no place is perfect, but this one is about as good as you can find. I feel safe here, find people to be friendly, weather is hot in Summer but wonderful the rest of the year, and cost of living isn't out of line.

Yes, traffic in season can be tough, but it is tough in a lot of other places too.

Glad to hear that healthcare options are plentiful. Some areas of FL have shortages of primary care doctors and new patient appointments are hard to get without waiting for several months. Which hospitals/clinics do you use?

My entire family and I have lived here since 1960. Not one of us has been the victim of a crime.

What was the rating criteria. Those other Florida cities rated in the top ten, all the demographics are somewhat drastically different. Just another tale to fill space,
