Has anyone else smelled a strong chlorine odor? I live about a half mile from the Everest parkway water plant.

The smell was so bad it burned my nose. I also smell through out the year a weird plastic burning smell.

Does anyone know what this could be from?? I'm fairly new to the area.

Thank you.

You might want to call 311 and ask as they may know. Or join Nextdoor if you haven't already as that will connect you to others in your immediate area who can probably provide some insight as to whether that happens frequently there.

It's a chemical reaction of decomposition and Red Tide - results in a gaseous toxic smell which can be quite annoying.

Most people here that are natives know this to be true most times. It confounds lots of newcomers however, the smell seems to come in waves and lingers/collects in some areas more than others with the wind as well.
