Hi all,

I am fairly new to Port Charlotte area. I am a black, Caribbean female and I am seeking to find where I can meet other people from Caribbean / black people. The area I’m in, I don’t see much kick backs with reggae music etc. I know Fort Myers would have more diversity, but I just need to be pointed in the direction. Lol
Thank you!

Sunshine,

I don't know if your post is sincere, but it might be unrealistic for you to move to Port Charlotte, Florida with the honest expectation of meeting a bunch of blacks from the Caribbean ! it's NOT that kind of demographic - that's not a bad thing, it's not a good thing - it's reality of where YOU chose to move for godsake.

I would suggest moving to Miami to hear a lot of reggae and meet all kinds of cultures - black, white, Asian, mixed ethnicity, Latin, foreign, native American, Canadian and even Slavic.

Your expectations are a bit weird...but good luck if you're sincere. I wouldn't move to southside Chicago and expect to see and bunch of my whitebread brethren enjoying Nashville sound.

Good luck though.

I was being sincere. I understand that which is why I mentioned fort myers because I know there’s places out there since it’s more diverse than port Charlotte.

Thank you !

Well, I'm white, BUT living in Southwest FL it's hard meeting SINGLE decent women in their early 30s to early 40s. I use the only dating sites but the selection is terrible. Most of the women are overweight, covered in tats or just not that good. Even Match isn't great. I'd say maybe 10 percent of them are palatable and most of them are up in Bradenton or Sarasota. My county, Charlotte and North Port area literally nothing on the dating sites.

Most my age who move here already seem to be married I run into. Rest are overweight.

But they I look at the dating sites for the Orlando, Tampa area and many more singles and decent ones.
