Hello!
I am a Naples resident and we are looking to board our dog, as much as I hate to, in June. We used to board at our vet but have changed vets since we were not happy with the care and the price.

Does anyone have any boarding facilities that they can recommend? I am willing to drive if I have to, in order to find the best place. I would love a place where my dog can run around and play part of the day, he is 95 pounds and needs exercise.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

While I don't know these people personally, there are a lot of people that pet sit in the area that advertise on craigslist. This would allow your pet to be in a home enviornment rather than a kennel.

Before moving ....I used Woof Cottage in South Fort Myers on many occasions and have always had a peace of mind when leaving my dogs there. I often left them with Bill for 3 weeks at a time for various vacations plus he was also recommended by my Vet.

If K9's Come 1st is the warehouse in downtown Ft. Myers off of 4th & Evans, don't even think about it. I stopped in one day and the dogs were being screamed at by the 1 dogsitter there (for 20+ dogs). They were all sitting in the sun on the concrete whimpering...terrible.

Camp Bow Wow just opened in Naples. They do day care and overnight boarding. They have 3 large indoor play yards that connect to 3 HUGE outdoor fenced in yards and you can watch your dogs on their web cams. I like Academy Kennels if you are looking for moderately priced. it's also close to the airport. Pampered Pooch in Ft Myers is also good but a little more expensive depending on the size of the dog. The owners run it out of their home and have a fenced backyard.

Default responding to post

mary at the poodle boutique boards at her private estate home for small dogs only. She lives on 5 acres right in town, very nice place and the dogs live in her home with just her and her husband.
