I can't understand why they didn't place underground utilities to Homes in the Cape. I see some really nice homes with great landscape and than there is this big ugly stick with wires going across the front. I would think in Hurricane prone area's that they wouldn't want this type of structure.

Agreed, But from what I understand, because of the high water table in this area(remember we're only about 12 ft above sea level here) the salt and water content in the soil will cause major corrosive problems to such infrastructure. Copper plumbing in houses around here typically last(ed) about 15-20 years before they corroded away. Replacement and new plumbing is generally done with PVC for this very reason. And thats to say nothing of the COST to relocate it all underground. People cant afford the principal, interest, TAXES, and insurance payments now. Add the assessments for that and......
