WE used to live in Cape Coral, and they are trying so hard to become like FT. Myers! They have affordable housing, but you get what you pay for and that means quite a few blacks and a ton of illegal Mexicans! They have pretty much overrun Cape Coral(the Mexicans) There is nothing for children or teens to do at all!! The downtown is trying to get hip, but that will take forever. We left Cape Coral 2 years ago and the only thing we miss are our families!

Cape Coral is a bedroom for Fort Myers Jobs. If you want a job there Real estate is about the only market. But you can try saying this ! (do you want that for here or to go ) I don't think you can live off the pay but you will get a real cool hat !.

Whether or not it's an illusion depends on how you spend your days. If you are retired, want to live on a canal, go boating every day, catch an early-bird dinner special, then watch the sunset with a pitcher or margaritas --- all without straining the budget --- it' paradise. If you need to work, want to have the opportunity for some upward mobility, or have children, then perhaps "paradise" isn't such a good description.
