SO dramatic! jeez.. Live in Naples over 20 years.. dont speak a lick of English.. rented some very nice places, currently renting a place for $795 a month. I have 2 beds, 2 baths 15 foot cathedrial ceilings , nice porch, stainless steel appliances including washer dryer, and dishwasher.. which I know are hard to come across up north..

OH and the kicker! We live on one income. My husband is the only one who works due to some serious health problems I have. We have absolutely no supplemental income coming in other than his paychecks. We have always lived in Naples and never had a prob, yeah even when we first started out as teens in the major boom when a simple condo was going for $500,000.. on one income.. we survive and we don't live poor. We can buy what we need and have money for a rainy day.. So I don't buy any of this bs about needing to speak spanish, and making TONS of money..

We live on fine.. p.s. my husband makes under $20 an hour as a 911 dispatcher but is a certified LEO, once an opening comes up and they get him on the road we'll be more than better off for us..

If you want it do it and don't listen to all this negativity it CAN be done just fine.

Default yay..

Hey Bronx, thanks, you sound like me.....I know it can be done there if it can be done here. You give me a little hope. My only problem and worry is after my divorce 3 years ago, my credit is horrible now. I have been posting on craigslist and have gotten responses...but some people are sounding kinda shady. Anyway....Thanks. I'm doing the move regardless. I know I will find a job pretty quick and can live according to what I make. I have been to the Naples area many times for vacation and have never run into a problem with language. Hmmmm.......sounds like all the negative people that hate it there so much should fly on up here to MI. and see how much they really MISS FL.

There are very reasonable duplexes for rent along Estey Ave right by Lorenzo Walker... the rental market is flooded right now and rents have come down a lot over the past 2 years. You'll have no trouble finding a place for $800. Worst case scenario, I recently saw that Whispering Pines Apartments are like $600 with first month free. It might not be ideal, but it would be a start!
