Plus gas sitting on that bridge sometimes.

It's become a more exclusive community in recent years than it used to be in terms of luxury living, so I wouldn't look into relocating there unless there are plenty of big bucks backing you up. But it is one of the most beautiful places anywhere!

I always thought Sanibel was a bit overrated. Yes it is beautiful, but the beaches are just okay (sand is too gritty for my liking). And it is difficult to get to any distractions, Fort Myers/Naples are a decent hike, and you think twice about it with that toll.

Anna Maria Island beats it hands down in my opinion.

Someone told me that the hurricanes of '04 washed away the sand bridge between Sanibel and Captiva. Is that true? We haven't been in a number of years - we need to go back soon. It is a lovely place and love The Bubble Room for fun! Unfortunately the one in Maitland went out of business several years ago and was recently replaced by that horrible, overpriced Italian restaurant..can't think of the name.

I love the Bubble Room, too! It was one of my few happy experiences in Lee County.

Actually a channel was cut by Charley in between Captiva and North Captiva. If you google, there are pictures. Use those keywords.

How ridiculous. Amazing how you can even take this and try to hurt me.

That wasn't a slam at Lee County. You have no idea what I meant because you don't know me at all.

And I've had many positive posts about Florida. Many people comment on how I post the positive and the negative.

Quit being so bitter.
