We are new to the area and are thinking about building a new home in Cape Coral or Ft. Myers. We want to know if anybody has any information on home builders. We know for sure not to use Harden Homes as we are renting a home they built and it's very poor quality. Hammer Homes is one of our favorites so far and they seem to build quality homes.

So share your stories, good and bad if you have one.

I have heard bad things about David Weekley, Mercedes and Adams homes. I would avoid them if possible. Shoddy construction, terrible customer service, etc.

I recently had my home build thru Jerez Home Builders, Inc. I was very pleased with their work. If you would like to contact them ask for Marjorie she was very helpful and always gave us a status on our home. They dont do advertizing they get their customers thru referrals. Their number is 239-772-9149.

Default New Homes in Cape Coral

Everyone has a opion as so do I, I won't tell you whos bad, but I will tell you who I think is good. But most of all do you home work. The most important thing, after finding a few good builders is to get their price per square foot. This will tell you what kind of deal your getting. Price divided by total square feet. Try United Home Builders I know that they build a quilty home. Heres their web site myunitedhomebuilders.com

What you get with Adams Homes is a lot of square footage for the money. They don't offer all the fluff and crap of some other builders. Get a hold of me if you want to know who to contact at Adams Homes.
Adams homes are cheap homes. you get what you pay for.Mary do you sell homes for Adams?

Unhappy Adam's homes - poorly managed

Southwest Florida is a great place to live. But beware of Adam's Homes in Cape Coral. They are poorly managed and although the home quality is good, beware of the "deals". You'll get more for less at a competitors.

Mercedes Homes have a wonderful product, as do KB Homes. You have lots of choices now. Some of the best prices I've ever seen and I lived here 12 years. It's a great place to live.

We are narrowing our search. We have checked out lots of the model homes in Cape Coral. We like Oyster Bay as they seem to have well built homes, good prices, and and have been around for a long time. We are most impressed with Aubuchon and Paul Homes. Those two have all the nice upgrades already included in their homes but they have the really high prices to go along with their upgrades. So we are still looking to find the best deals and quality builder out there. We still have a couple of months to shop around.

Keep the suggestions coming.
